Dawn |

A small digital recorder and many nights in the bedroom resulted in a new "Dawn". A collection
of 11 pieces
of a
somewhat improvisational nature
to some
degree spontaneously composed
On this recording
I fell into a somewhat introspective and reflective place ... it didn't hurt one
bit
though I did put a run in my stocking The recording of this music
started at the beginning of my father's illness
and continued on through his death and for a period thereafter. I have placed the pieces in chronological order, so as to sustain whatever energy might have been present on this journey. The cover painting of Saltskärs Käring is by Solveig Udén. This structure stands on a rocky island off the west coast of Sweden. On
the waters protected by Saltskärs Käring
we released my
father's ashes.

lot's of pieces
on a wee little recorder in my bedroom and getting to the point where I was really
beginning to like what was happening.
Late in 2004, I sent some of
my music to David
Pritchard
David had been a pioneer in radio as host of an all night radio show on CHUM FM in the late 60's and had operated a recording studio since that time. He was an artist in many fields and was into all kinds of music. I respected his opinion. I wanted some guidance and an opinion of what to do with my recordings. David listened. He encouraged me to make this collection of pieces into a cd and he would do the mastering, the final sonic touch. Sadly, David wasn't well and before I was able to bring him the last piece, he became too ill to finish what we'd started. David's encouragement gave me the confidence to make the CD. Thank You David David died in early 2005 In spring of 2005, we released "Dawn" to purchase this fine offering top |
